Are you eager to roll up your sleeves and dive into a kitchen adventure? NADSA invites you to our upcoming cooking class, led by the talented Rebecca Russell, both a respected Curtin lecturer and seasoned professional chef.
Join us on the Curtin campus at Bentley for a culinary journey with a cause. Together, we'll be bulk cooking meals to be donated to OzHarvest, a charity committed to combating food waste and supporting those in need. We will be cooking two different meals - gnocchi in vegetable sauce, and chicken with preserved lemon tagine.
Two ticket options are available. There is an optional $5 donation with all proceeds going to directly to OzHarvest. To donate and attend the event, select both ticket options.
All are welcomed to partake in this enriching and enjoyable event regardless of your culinary background or skill level. Let's come together to make a positive impact in our community!

NADSA Curtin invites you to our upcoming cooking class and charity event, led by the talented Dr Rebecca Russell (chef and Curtin lecturer). All are welcomed to partake in this enriching and enjoyable event regardless of your culinary background or skill level. Let's come together to make a positive impact in our community!
Please note: this event is limited to current Curtin University students who have completed a food laboratory induction (usually as part of NUTR1000 in first year).
Tickets
Two ticket types are available - one free, and one incorporating a $6 donation. The donation is passed onto OzHarvest. OzHarvest is working hard to get nourishing food to people who need it most, with the demand for food and meals being higher than what they can provide. Every $1 donation = 2 meals they can provide to their charities. Your donation would be greatly appreciated!
Please note: please only secure are ticket if you are confident you will be able to attend (to reduce waste and ensure maximum participation). Tickets are limited to those who responded to the earlier Expression of Interest survey. If you missed out please contact us!
Time & location
Arrive 9:15am for a 9:30am start. The event will run for approximately 3 hours.
Curtin Bentley campus, building 400, room 400.111 (food lab).
Attire
Closed shoes, lab coats, hair tied up or back.
Curtin Extra - Nutrition & Dietetics
Participation in this event counts towards the hours requirement for the program.

OzHarvest Support and Feed with NADSA

Kick off semester two in the kitchen! Join us in orientation week to get your hands dirty and have some fun with NADSA and nutrition lecturer & chef, Dr Rebecca Russell.
Cook a variety of plant-based meals that will be donated to OzHarvest as part of their ‘Support and Feed’ program.
All experience and ability levels are welcome. The event will include a briefing and knife skills demo, and then cooking, packaging and tasting the meals.
Contribute to OzHarvest's noble goal of combatting food waste and insecurity, all while you increase your skills and confidence in the kitchen.
Schedule
Morning session: 8:45am start, 11:45am end - 20 places maximum.
Afternoon session: 12:30pm start, 3:30pm end - 20 places maximum.
Please note: these are two separate sessions, each taking 3 hours.

** both sessions have sold out - waitlist tickets are available under 'Get Tickets' - students on the waitlist will be contacted in the week prior to the event to confirm if they can be accomodated - thank you for your interest! **

This is a free event - limited to Curtin students of B.Sc Nutrition & Food Science and M.Sc Dietetics, and current NADSA members.
Ticket-holders will be asked to confirm their attendance closer to the event (to minimise wasteage and ensure we have a full compliment of volunteers).

FREE FITNESS CLASSES at Curtin Stadium exclusively for NADSA members during study week (29 May - 4 June).
Take a moment to de-stress and refocus.
BODYBALANCE is a yoga-based class that incorporates elements of pilates and Tai chi that will leave you feeling calm and collected before heading into your exam study.
During study week NADSA members will receive open access to all BODYBALANCE classes hosted at Curtin Stadium. That's access to $90 worth of classes! Simply show Stadium staff your Student ID card (or other valid Government ID) before attending a session.
Not a member yet? Join by 12pm 26 May to claim this exclusive offer ($5 or free using a Guild voucher).
